Xbox Insiders Can Add Chat Audio to Captures as Wishlists Reach 1,000 Games

Alpha Skip-Ahead members can sort achievement history, while cloud-save restoration is currently supported in Forza Horizon 6 ahead of a wider rollout during the week of August 10, 2026.

Xbox Insiders have new ways to manage game captures, achievement history, cloud saves, and wishlists starting August 5, 2026. Microsoft outlined the changes in an August 5 Xbox Wire update, with some features arriving first for members of the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring.

Party and Game Chat Can Join Captures

Xbox Insiders in Alpha Skip-Ahead can now decide whether chat audio should be included in their game recordings. Party chat and game chat are handled separately, giving players more control over what ends up in a clip.

Party members must opt in before their voices can be recorded. Each person controls their own setting, so one player’s choice does not automatically add everyone else’s audio. Players outside a party can also include game chat when the feature is supported.

Achievement History Gets More Sorting Options

Alpha Skip-Ahead members can also sort their achievement history instead of relying only on the default last-played view. The available filters include game name, completion percentage, Gamerscore earned, and the number of unlocked Achievements.

Every sorting option supports ascending and descending order. That should make it easier to find unfinished games, check progress toward a Gamerscore target, or see which titles have the most unlocked Achievements.

Cloud Save Recovery Starts With Forza Horizon 6

Xbox Insiders already have access to a way to restore previously synced cloud-save versions on the console. The feature currently supports Forza Horizon 6, and Microsoft plans to make it available to more players during the week of August 10, 2026.

For supported games, players can browse older save versions and restore one without leaving the console interface. The option is found under Manage game & add-ons > Saved data > Restore saved data.

The restore screen shows the available save information before replacement, including details such as play time and progress. Support for more games is planned for future updates.

Every Xbox Player Can Wishlist Up to 1,000 Games

The wishlist limit has increased to 1,000 games for all Xbox players. The larger space gives players more room to track upcoming releases, build a backlog, or save games they may want to buy later.

The capture and achievement tools are beginning with Alpha Skip-Ahead members, while cloud-save restoration is expanding from Xbox Insiders to more players next week. The 1,000-game wishlist is available now across Xbox.
