Microsoft just announced the first batch of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in August 2025, and yeah, it’s kinda interesting. Starting August 5, eight new games will be available alongside some DLC and in-game bonuses. One surprise? Assassin’s Creed Mirage is joining the lineup for Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscribers. That’s a pretty sweet addition!
Here’s what’s dropping in Wave 1:
Wave 1 Xbox Game Pass Games For August
Right out the gate on August 5, Rain World lands for all members on cloud, console, and PC. Then, on August 6, four more games hit Xbox Series X|S for Game Pass Standard members:
- Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector
- Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders
- MechWarrior 5: Clans
- Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap
Wait, there’s more. On August 7, Assassin’s Creed Mirage arrives on cloud, console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscribers. Then August 12 brings Aliens: Fireteam Elite for all members across platforms, and on August 14, 9 Kings launches in Xbox Game Preview for Ultimate and PC.
Other Game Pass Additions
Besides the games, there are some cool perks and DLCs coming too. Madden NFL 26 joins EA Play on August 7 with a 10-hour trial for members. On August 12, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced launches, and Sea of Thieves kicks off Season 17 on August 14.

On the flip side, three games will be leaving Game Pass on August 15: Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload. Yikes, some solid titles there.
