Xbox Controllers Are Reportedly Getting New Haptic Motors

You know that moment when you’re playing, and your controller vibrates just the right way? It’s like your game gives you a gentle nudge, saying, “Hey, pay attention!” Well, it seems Microsoft might be stepping up their game with some new tech for Xbox controllers!

According to Tech4Gamers, a recent patent filing has surfaced that hints at the introduction of haptic motors. These could bring a whole new vibe.

The patent suggests these haptic motors are not just any ordinary feedback tools. They feature a housing, connector, and motor that can move when activated relative to the controller’s housing. Imagine feeling every bump and thud more vividly than ever before!

“Dynamically tuned” is how they describe these motors; sounds fancy, right? This means they can adjust themselves to give players a more personalized experience while playing. The idea is that players will feel two vibrations to create richer feedback. Just picture it while racing or battling. It could change how we play!

The patent reads, “The concepts described herein enhance a haptic response of a device by incorporating haptic subcomponents into a moving or flexible mechanical architecture….” This could mean lighter controllers that still pack an incredible punch in feedback without being bulky.

This moveable technology might be Microsoft’s answer to Sony’s DualSense controller vibes. While we don’t have any official word from Xbox about when these features might hit the shelves (or even happen), it’s worth watching! This may be the tip of the iceberg, with whispers about the new Sebile controller already circulating.
