Gnomeregan's main approach is in northwest Dun Morogh, beyond Brewnall Village. The surface entrance leads to a lift and a non-instanced area before the dungeon portal, so the journey does not end when you find the machinery outside.

How to Reach the Entrance
- Travel west through Dun Morogh towards Brewnall Village and the Gnomeregan entrance area.
- Find the main entrance around 24, 40 on the Dun Morogh map and take the lift down.
- Follow the exterior corridors to the main instance portal, keeping the group together through the enemies outside the dungeon.
Alliance and Horde Travel
Alliance groups can start from Ironforge. Horde players have a more useful option than crossing Dun Morogh on foot: pick up Rig Wars from Nogg in Orgrimmar, then the Chief Engineer Scooty lead from Sovik, and continue the teleporter preparation in Booty Bay.
Before You Go
The Workshop back entrance is not the default route for a first visit. It uses the Workshop Key obtained inside the dungeon, so do not send a new group there assuming it is an unlocked shortcut. The map marks the main exterior approach.
Some objectives, including early quest work, are outside the instance portal. Check the quest log before rushing through the approach. This is the Forever dungeon, not the Season of Discovery raid version or the later retail starting-zone experience.
