The upcoming patch for World of Warcraft, version 11.1.5, will launch on April 22. It will bring a host of new features that players have been looking forward to. Among the highlights is the integration of a built-in UI alternative to one of the most sought-after add-ons in the game, an addition that aims to simplify gameplay and reduce reliance on third-party tools.
This update will introduce a Cooldown Manager, allowing players enhanced control over their character’s abilities and buffs directly through the customizable UI. This feature is especially crucial since many players have turned to external solutions like WeakAuras to track cooldowns and buffs effectively.
In a recent blog post, Blizzard outlined how this Cooldown Manager will improve the player experience by providing easy-to-read meters detailing remaining times on buffs and special bars for utility cooldowns — functionality long missing from WoW’s default interface.
No doubt, while some may still opt for WeakAuras due to its deep customization options, casual players are likely to welcome this new tool as it simplifies setup significantly. Blizzard has been working steadily to improve its UI over time; previous updates during Dragonflight saw major adjustments aimed at making such modifications less necessary overall.
The content coming with patch 11.1.5 doesn’t end there. Players can expect a fresh scenario centered around Flame’s Radiance, where they’ll need to defend Hallowfall against Sureki forces alongside new cosmetic rewards tied to Renown rank advancements. Also, those leveling up can enjoy a boosting event that grants an extra 20% XP along with reputation increases for both Dragonflight and The War Within factions, all kicking off on April 22.
Also, the Battle for Azeroth’s Horrific Visions feature will return on May 20. This feature lets adventurers revisit corrupted versions of Stormwind and Orgrimmar in pursuit of Heroic-level gear, plus new cosmetic items and enchants. Following that excitement, June will see the introduction of Dastardly Duos, a boss rush mode pitting players against two or more previous bosses in tandem.
