Blizzard said patch 12.1, Curse of Ula’tek, will bring Discord-linked guild chat to World of Warcraft in the next update. The feature will let messages flow between the MMO and Discord, so guilds can keep talking without bouncing between apps.
In Blizzard’s announcement for Curse of Ula’tek, the studio said the chat can run as one combined feed or as separate channels. Players will need to link their Battle.net and Discord accounts, and a guild leader or officer will choose how the setup works. Messages sent from Discord will also show a logo next to them in-game.
That should make raid planning and day-to-day guild chatter easier for groups spread across different time zones. It also gives Blizzard a direct answer to one of the MMO’s oldest coordination problems.
