Blizzard has decided to speak their minds regarding the dark times the world is currently facing. We have seen an increase in online activity, especially in the entertainment software department, where video games have noticed a new record of concurrent players, and all of that because of what else if not the self-isolation caused by the disastrous spread of the Coronavirus.
The struck of Covid-19 has pushed multiple developers to make their games free-to-play even for a brief period, which further dragged Blizzard to come to a new conclusion and help people. To cope with this fresh wave of players and help them set foot in the World of Warcraft easier, the developer has decided to increase the experience gain for 100%.
The experience buff will last until April 20, which is already in power. According to Blizzard’s bluepost:
If you’re staying inside and find yourself returning to Azeroth, or if you’re leveling another character (or two), you’ll be getting a special bonus to help you on your way. Beginning today through April 20, 2020 all players in Battle for Azeroth will gain an experience buff called “Winds of Wisdom” which will increase experience gains by 100%! (This includes Starter Edition and Legion players as well.)
Players will also be able to take advantage of this experience boost while still using their favorite heirlooms. It won’t take long before you’ll be facing off with the Old God N’Zoth and his minions in Ny’alotha, the Waking City.
Therefore, if you’re a newcomer or just returning to spend quality time during a self-isolation, leveling up a new character could be a high possibility. But personally speaking, it would be much better to see Blizzard give a discount on their character/faction transfer/realm change services, which may also help people who suffer from these consequences to meet their friends more comfortable.
