Several hotfixes arrived in World of Warcraft between August 11th and 18th, bringing adjustments to Mythic+ dungeons, class abilities, raids, and more. Players will notice changes in dungeon mechanics, class damage tweaks, and bug fixes that affect both PvE and PvP gameplay. It’s quite a bit to unpack, so let’s take a calm look at what’s new and fixed.
Mythic+ dungeons received two tuning passes recently, with another one coming soon. These changes target specific bosses and mechanics across dungeons like Tazavesh, Halls of Atonement, and Ara-Kara. For example, some boss damage has been reduced, ability timers adjusted, and enemy behaviors fixed. These tweaks aim to balance the difficulty and smooth out encounters that players found frustrating or inconsistent.
Class tuning also saw a fair share of updates. Death Knight Frost got a slight damage reduction on Obliterate but also some fixes to abilities misbehaving at high haste levels. Demon Hunter Havoc got a 5% damage increase, which might make them feel a bit stronger in PvE. Druid Balance and Feral received damage buffs and adjustments to set bonuses. Meanwhile, Restoration Druids had some bugs fixed around their healing bonuses and a boost to some healing effects to balance out those fixes.
Hunters, Mages, Monks, Priests, Paladins, Shamans, Warlocks, and Warriors also saw various tweaks, including damage increases, reductions, and bug fixes for their abilities or set bonuses. For example, Enhancement Shamans had several damage increases across their abilities, while Warlocks had reductions in some Demonology damage and fixes to certain tier set bonuses. PvP combat was not left untouched; some abilities had their damage or healing reduced to keep things balanced in competitive play.
Delves and dungeon issues were addressed too. Problems like incorrect item level rewards, stealth-breaking when using Waygates, and boss mechanics not working properly were fixed. Specific dungeons like Eco-Dome Al’dani and Operation: Floodgate had bugs corrected, and Tazavesh bosses had their abilities fine-tuned to improve the experience.
Item and reward changes included a 5% decrease in effects for some legendary items and changes to how Timewalking Raid rewards drop. There was also a fix for a crash caused by a Warband background and improvements to how Great Vault rewards scale based on bosses defeated.
Some quest bugs were resolved, including one that blocked progress if two quests conflicted, and the return of the quest “Crest Transmutation.” Renown issues with the Manaforge Vandals faction were fixed as well, granting missing Renown to affected players.
Wow, that’s a lot to take in! Did you expect so many adjustments in one hotfix cycle? It’s kinda nice to see so many fixes, even if it means some classes got hit with damage reductions. What do you think about the changes to your favorite spec or dungeon? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
