World of Warcraft received a set of hotfixes on August 15th that adjust several dungeon encounters, reduce the power of some trinkets, and fix a renown progression bug. These changes affect gameplay balance and player experience in dungeons and raids.
Starting with Halls of Atonement, Inquisitor Sigar’s Display of Power now has a smaller damage radius, down from 10 yards to 5 yards. The Manifestation of Envy’s movement speed has been cut by 42%, and its melee attacks can no longer critically hit players. Lord Chamberlain’s Erupting Torment has a reduced impact radius and deals 22% less damage. These tweaks might make the fights feel a bit less punishing, but will players notice the difference immediately?
In Operation: Floodgate, an issue where Razorchoke Vines could get stuck on players after the fight has ended was resolved. Priory of the Sacred Flame saw a fix for players being phased out when entering the fountain near Captain Dailcry. Meanwhile, in Tazavesh, the Veiled Market, the Unstable Goods now correctly grant the Throw Package ability during the Mailroom Mayhem encounter.
Adjustments in Tazavesh, Streets of Wonder include a timer increase from 32 to 34 minutes. The Grand Menagerie bosses Alcruux, Achillite, and Venza each have their health reduced by 16%. Commander Zo’far’s Shock Mines now last 24 seconds instead of 36, and their cooldown has doubled. Lethal Force’s damage-over-time effect is shortened to 3 seconds from 5. Myza’s Oasis features changes to Zo’gron’s Final Warning, which now pulses Arcane damage every second until its shield breaks, with the shield itself reduced by 10%. The Brawling Patron’s Throw Drink damage is halved. Finally, the Bazaar Overseer’s Pierce debuff value was cut from 20% to 10%.
Some trinkets also took a hit. Effects from Pyrite Infuser, Mjolnir Runestone, Wrathstone, Eye of the Broodmother, Living Flame, and Elemental Focus Stone have all been decreased by 5%. It’s a modest nerf, but it might change how players pick their gear for dungeons and raids.
There was a fix for Renown progression, too. Players who were stuck starting at Rank 0 with the Manaforge Vandals instead of Rank 1 have now been granted the missing Renown to reach Rank 2 this week. That’s a relief for anyone worried about losing progress.
