World of Tanks banned 1,400 cheaters and 1,380 riggers across EU servers in its latest enforcement wave. Another 5,290 cheaters received penalties that Wargaming defines as a first-time warning and temporary ban, according to the company’s Fair Play update.
Wargaming says bans beyond the warning-and-temporary-ban penalty are permanent. It also says its team checks suspicious cases and acts only when it has verified evidence.
Enemy-position sharing now brings a permanent ban
The update singles out coordinated position-sharing as one of the most serious rule violations. Players who use mods, outside software, or other technical tools to get enemy vehicle locations through an accomplice on the opposing team, as well as those who knowingly share that information, face a permanent account ban even for a first offense. Wargaming says there will be no warning or initial seven-day suspension for this violation.
For players who use mods, Wargaming points to its Mod Hub, where it says mods are checked and approved for safe use.
