If you’re anything like me, the thought of diving back into Escape from Tarkov after a wipe feels like unwrapping that special gift during the holidays, excitement mixed with a hint of dread. Battlestate Games has just announced that this year’s Winter Twitch Drops campaign is set to launch on December 30. And yes, you guessed it, the wipe will likely happen shortly before that.
This isn’t just any run-of-the-mill update. It’s accompanied by the much-anticipated 0.16 update, which promises a hefty overhaul with new weapons, balance tweaks, and even a rework of Customs, one of those maps that has players whispering sweet nothings in its ear as they loot every nook and cranny.
With The Wipe Comes a Drop
The details are rolling in thick and fast on the official Escape from Tarkov website. The Winter Twitch Drops campaign will be live from December 30 to January 4, followed by another event specifically for Escape from Tarkov Arena drops running from January 4 to January 8.
If you’re aiming to grab some goodies, streamers need to sign up here. Content creators will have assigned time slots based on when they can commit. No word yet on what rewards viewers can snag this time around. Last year was a bit of a mixed bag, while some folks scored thousands of rounds of ammo (which is always lovely), others ended up with packs of noodles or similar oddities. Who knew surviving in Tarkov could come with instant ramen?
Battlestate took to social media to hype things up:
“With the approach of the New Year holidays, one of the most anticipated events of the year for our community is kicking off—the annual Twitch Drops Event. This is a great opportunity to receive in-game gifts and enjoy the festive season.”
Are you excited about this please?
