Windows 11 Xbox app becomes a single launcher for Steam, Epic, GOG and more

Xbox app on Windows 11 now shows installed games from various PC storefronts in one place.

Microsoft has turned the Xbox app on Windows 11 into a single place to see and launch installed PC games, adding support for Steam, Epic Games, GOG and Battle.net. That change matters because players can now open titles from different launchers without hunting through multiple apps.

I remember when keeping a tidy library meant juggling five shortcuts and enough ceremony to make a priest bored. Microsoft announced the feature on the Xbox website after testing with Xbox Insiders, and it brings together your Xbox library, Game Pass entries, and a range of third-party storefronts into an aggregated list inside the app.

Games installed by Steam, Epic, GO,G and Battle.net will appear automatically in the Xbox app once the integration detects them. Users can hide any listing through a settings toggle if they prefer a slimmer list, and the My apps tab gives a direct route to open the storefronts you already use.

Cloud-playable titles and a play history that will show a “jump back in” list on Home are scheduled to arrive in a later update this month. Expect those additions to make the Xbox app more useful on handheld Windows devices as well, with the Xbox Ally launch approaching and related handheld-friendly Windows 11 tweaks on the way.

Hit the Xbox announcement for the full rundown: news.xbox.com. If you want to test the changes yourself, the update is live now on Windows 11 gaming PCs after Insider previews.
