The May 7 update for Warzone and Black Ops 6 brings some vital weapon nerfs, tackles frustrating server disconnects, and introduces a fresh Gunsmith customization option. If you’ve been feeling the sting of the AMAX or HDR lately, you’re not imagining things — this patch is shaking up the meta again!
Season 3 Reloaded dropped a bunch of new content like a new SMG, limited-time modes, and multiplayer maps, but it also caused some hiccups. This minor patch aims to fix those issues and balance the gameplay more.
Server Disconnects
Players have been getting booted from Warzone matches more often since Season 3 Reloaded launched. Raven Software responded with a statement clarifying that any malicious attacks don’t cause these disconnects. They’re actively investigating the root cause and promise updates soon, though this patch doesn’t include a direct fix yet.
“We understand the frustration caused by ongoing server disconnects and want to explain that these issues are not due to known malicious attacks or activity,” Raven Software said. “Our studio teams are actively investigating the root cause which shipped with Season 03 Reloaded and will provide updates as soon as possible.”
AMAX, HDR, and AK-74 Nerfs
The CR-56 AMAX has been dominating the long-range meta despite previous nerfs. It still has minimal recoil and one of the fastest time-to-kill rates. To balance this, the update reduces its headshot multiplier, slows sprint-to-fire speed, and decreases aim down sight movement speed.
The HDR sniper rifle also received a slower aim-down sight speed, but it remained a one-shot kill beast. This patch further reduces its flinch resistance by 60%, making it easier to counter snipers and disrupt their shots. Attachments that reduce flinch resistance were also nerfed.
The AK-74’s maximum damage dropped from 45 to 39. Raven Software explained that this change gives SMGs more room in close-range fights while keeping the AK-74 viable at mid to long range.
