Call of Duty: Warzone has recently received a small but significant update that adjusts the balance of certain key Assault Rifles. The patch notably nerfs the Krig C, which had become the dominant choice in Season 4 Reloaded, while quietly improving a few other fan-favorites.
Whenever a new season arrives, developers typically adjust weapon stats to maintain gameplay variety. This time, after the Krig C rose to the top with its strong performance, it saw increased recoil and reduced damage multipliers in a patch released on July 8. That should make the gun a bit less dominant, but there’s more to this update than just the nerf.
Ames 85, Kilo-141 & GPR 91 Buffs
Alongside the Krig C nerf, Ames 85, Kilo-141, and GPR 91 have received buffs that might shift player preferences. The Ames 85’s Maximum Damage Range increased from 31.7 meters to 35.5 meters, Medium Damage Range 1 went up from 40.6 to 45.7 meters, and its Headshot multiplier improved from 1.2x to 1.3x.

The Kilo-141 is now faster in terms of bullet velocity, improving from 870 meters per second to 905 meters per second. The GPR 91 saw multiple changes: Maximum Damage Range increased from 33 to 38 meters, Medium Damage Range 1 from 45.7 to 49.5 meters, Lower Torso multiplier from 0.8x to 0.85x, and Aim Down Sight speed got a bit quicker, dropping from 240ms to 230ms.
The update also nerfs the DM-10 by reducing its damage multipliers. According to the developers, the DM-10 will still perform well in skilled hands but will require more precise, eager to be helpful now.

Also, the patch made changes to visual recoil for scopes on Black Ops 6 weapons and reduced optic strafing movement for current Warfare II and III weapons. These subtle tweaks could affect the feel across several weapons.
Have you noticed these changes in your recent matches? Do you think the Krig C nerf will encourage players to try other rifles, such as the Kilo-141 or Ames 85? I’m curious to hear your thoughts down in the comments.
