Warner Bros. Delays Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Again Following Backlash

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has once again delayed the release of its highly anticipated video game, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. The game, developed by Rocksteady Studios, is an action-adventure game featuring a group of comic book anti-heroes.

The game was initially set to release in 2022 but was delayed to 2023. Recently, it was announced that the game would launch on May 26, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, it has now been delayed again, and it’s scheduled for Q4 2023.

The information on the game’s delay was also confirmed by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, saying that “Warner Bros. has again delayed a video game based on the Suicide Squad comic book franchise, pushing it from a May release date to later this year, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter.”

The delay follows widespread criticism of the game online, with fans expressing concern about the introduction of a Battle Pass system and the requirement of an online connection for the single-player side of the game. It’s weird seeing this for a video game that’s been in development for a long period of time.

Jason Schreier has also stated: For what it’s worth, a delay like this is mainly for polish, not to overhaul the core gameplay that caused the backlash. Suicide Squad started off as a Game as a Service and will remain one short of a complete reboot, which would require a much longer delay.
