Warner Bros. Confirms a Second Hogwarts Legacy Game Is Coming
The shareholder letter names the second installment, but its official title, release timing, platforms, developer, and gameplay details remain unannounced.

Warner Bros. has confirmed that a second Hogwarts Legacy game is in development, giving the 2023 action RPG a formal sequel announcement. The company has not revealed the project’s final title, release date, or gameplay details as of Aug. 13, 2026.
The news appeared in Warner Bros.’ second-quarter shareholder letter, dated Aug. 6, where the company described games as an “important growth lever” for its business. Warner Bros. also said it is focusing on four key franchises worth more than $1 billion each and putting its resources behind fewer games. The letter pointed to LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight and Game of Thrones: Dragonfire as recent releases under its refocused strategy.
Warner Bros. said its expanding games pipeline will include “the second installment of Hogwarts Legacy” in its Q2 shareholder letter. That wording confirms the sequel’s place in the company’s plans without assigning it an official name.
What Warner Bros. Has Confirmed So Far
The first Hogwarts Legacy launched in 2023 and put players in the role of a student who could choose a Hogwarts house, learn spells, brew potions, and wield a rare form of ancient magic. Its open-world adventure has sold at least 40 million units, giving Warner Bros. a clear reason to continue the series. The company had also described a follow-up as one of its top priorities for the future in 2024.
For now, the sequel remains a broad announcement rather than a full reveal. Warner Bros. has not announced the sequel’s platforms or story details, confirmed a developer beyond whether Avalanche Software will return, or explained how the next game will build on the original’s systems and story. Multiplayer, online features, and co-op gameplay also remain unconfirmed.
