Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 fans expecting the new PvP mode soon might have to hang tight a bit longer. Saber Interactive has announced a delay for the PvP update, initially planned for July or August, and has shifted it to September instead. But hey, there’s a silver lining—more DLC content is on the way, including a new class and fresh PvE missions.
Following the recent Siege Update, which added a PvE mode and various tweaks, Saber shared a community update about what’s next as the game’s first anniversary nears. They reassured players that new content is coming, but the rollout of the PvP mode hit a snag.
The upcoming 10.0 update in September will bring the delayed PvP mode. Instead of the usual Chaos versus Loyalists setup, this new mode will pit Chaos forces against each other on a brand-new map. Players can expect to control a Helbrute, wield new weapons, and don Chaos-specific armor. Sounds like a fresh twist, right?
Also, a new class named Techmarine will join both PvE and PvP modes, though Saber didn’t specify exactly when it will arrive. Given the Techmarine’s lore importance, it might disrupt gameplay in interesting ways.
The 9.0 update, expected around July or August, will focus primarily on balancing and tweaks rather than new modes. So if you’re eager for fresh PvP chaos, you’ll have to wait a little longer.
Space Marine 2 has earned a solid reputation, especially as a co-op shooter. Saber is committed to supporting the game with a second year of free and DLC content via a new season pass. Expect fresh PvE missions, enemies, and weapons to keep the action going.
It’s interesting to note that the original Space Marine game isn’t sharing the same love right now. The Master Crafted Edition struggled with sales and reviews, especially compared to Space Marine 2’s success.
