Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks is a loud, green, and explosive take on car combat that first arrived on PC in 2025 and is slated to reach PlayStation 5 at some point in 2026. The game leans into ork mayhem with ramshackle vehicles, oversized weapons, and pyrotechnic chaos that will feel familiar to players who miss the old Twisted Metal games.
The game is built around head-to-head PvP. Players pick ork crews and kit out vehicles with a mix of engines, guns, and bizarre modifications, then face off in arena matches that emphasize fast kills and brutal close encounters. Reviews and player response since the PC launch have been broadly positive, with many praising the punchy, tactile feel of combat and the games deliberately daft tone.
Speed Freeks also includes a dedicated map editor that lets players design tracks and arenas. That editor is already part of the live PC build and will be present at launch on PlayStation. There is no confirmed single-player campaign and no announcement has been made about any solo mode being added.
If you have nostalgia for the classic PlayStation car brawlers, note that Twisted Metal 3 and 4 now include Platinum trophies on modern PlayStation systems, which gives those older entries renewed relevance for completionists. The official trailers give a clear sense of the tone. Expect screaming orks, fiery crashes and over-the-top weapon hits. Two trailers and gameplay clips are available from the developer and publisher for a closer look.
