Warframe’s Vallis Undermind has received two small but important updates: Hotfix 40.0.5, which tackles an exploit tied to coupons on the Epic Launcher and sweeps up a host of UI, VFX, and crash fixes, and Hotfix 40.0.5.1, a brief backend pass aimed at server traffic and bandwidth improvements.
The coupon change is the one most players will notice in forums chatter — the team has disabled coupons for players using the Epic Launcher while they deal with an exploit. The developer posted an official PSA with more details and updates on the situation; read the official PSA on the Warframe forums.
If you missed recent moves, this continues a run of targeted hotfixes addressing issues introduced with The Vallis Undermind. For a refresher on earlier follow-ups, see our coverage of Hotfix 40.0.2 and Hotfix 40.0.1.
Patch Notes – 40.0.5.1
- A tiny hotfix to address some server traffic and bandwidth optimizations. None of these changes are player-facing, so you shouldn’t notice any difference.
Patch Notes – 40.0.5
Changes:
- Disabled coupons for players using the Epic Launcher due to an exploit.
- For more information and updates on this situation, head to our official PSA: official PSA on the Warframe forums
- Removed mention of Corpus when Teshin tells players that the enemies’ “advanced shields” are vulnerable only to Electricity in The Teacher quest.
- Players reported that this may cause confusion to new players (thinking that all Corpus shields are vulnerable only to Electricity).
- Removed screen shake caused by your Companion’s melee attacks.
- Changed Vapos Specter’s purchase limit from 1 every 24 hours to 7 a week in Nightcap’s wares.
- The daily purchase limit was causing issues where the limit wasn’t resetting properly, so we swapped it to weekly. Players can still obtain the same number of Specters a week!
- Updated the music when viewing player Profiles.
- Made optimizations to the game’s memory footprint.
Top Fixes:
