WARDOGS has sold 1.25 million copies after its September 10 Early Access launch, moving BULKHEAD’s tactical shooter beyond its one-million-copy first day while server pressure remains part of the opening story. BULKHEAD confirmed the updated figure in a Steam announcement.
BULKHEAD also thanked players for their patience and apologized for delays. The developer said it was monitoring the servers and watching players in-game as the launch continued.

Opening-day figures included a Steam peak above 300,000 concurrent players and more than one million copies sold. The player peak came after a pre-release test that drew more than 245,000 concurrent players, giving WARDOGS a substantial audience before Early Access began.
Server pressure had already led to Launch Stability Hotfix #1 on September 10. Logged-in players had to restart, download a client update, and rejoin the login queue before BULKHEAD admitted players in controlled batches. The hotfix targeted failed server joins, unexpected kicks, and extended queue times, as detailed in the launch stability coverage.
Pre-launch interest had also crossed one million Steam wishlists before the closed beta, while the beta drew nearly 500,000 players. At launch, the game puts up to 100 players across three teams, combining infantry combat with vehicles, construction, destruction, and a cash system that lets players fund loadouts through teamplay.
