A real-time strategy, especially coming from the rows of Blizzard, is rarely a disappointment. However, Warcraft 3: Reforged, the complete reiteration of Warcraft 3, is now full of flaws. Blizzard’s once most popular RTS has failed to cope with player’s expectations. It doesn’t seem like much of an upgrade at all, especially when you cannot settle a game between two devices. Players are furious regarding the rushed release, and almost 24 hours after, no one can get a hold of it the proper way.
Believe it or not, we haven’t been able to find a match, and among the four times we did, nothing happened. The same occurs across the globe, which proves the treachery. Warcraft 3: Reforged was supposed to be a complete remake, with ultimately the same in-game mechanics. Only the visual aspect was thought to be enhanced, which quite honestly Blizzard put their work into it.
The cutscenes and animations are improved as per Blizzard’s quality, but what about the core features? The UI remains pretty much the same, only far more colorful than before, which doesn’t represent exactly what we thought of. Not to mention its flow, which most of the times gets stuck. The balance and combination between The Frozen Throne and Reign of Chaos are there, but not in an exact way. Whilst these things are revamped and somewhat serve Warcraft 3’s legacy, other features fail deeply.
Nevertheless, Blizzard is aware of its rough launch and is most probably trying to fix things in the fastest possible time. In the meantime, players are still arguing in the global chat and how the game cannot find a solid matchup. The Forums of Warcraft 3: Reforged are under heavy load, with players expressing their bitterness. They call this Warcraft 3: Refunded. At the moment, connectivity issues remain at the time of this writing, and we’ll be waiting to see a fix very soon.
Well, a video game of this caliber might feel new, may have new animations and cutscenes to dive deeper into the lore of World of Warcraft, but it doesn’t have a firm connection to a healthy product.
