World of Warcraft’s War Within received a small but impactful hotfix on October 21 that touches Legion Remix, Timeworn Keystone rewards, and how Fragmented Mementos are earned. The update adds role-specific Eternus buffs for Timerunners, expands where Fragmented Mementos drop, fixes several zone meta and keystone issues, and reduces the number of Motes of a Broken Time from keystone dungeons.
The change continues recent adjustments to Remix content that tilt the power curve toward DPS and healers while tidying up reward consistency. For background on the earlier Remix tuning that targeted DPS and healers, see prior coverage of those planned Remix changes and the related artifact trait hotfixes.
Patch Notes – War Within 11.2.5 Hotfixes (October 21)
Legion Remix
- While running a Timeworn Keystone Eternus will grant players the following buffs, depending on their role:
- Gift of Eternus: Slayer – Eternus grants damage dealers 10% increased damage done, 100% increased health, and 33% decreased damage taken.
- Gift of Eternus: Savior – Eternus grants healers 10% increased damage done, 10% increased healing and absorbs, 100% increased health, and 33% decreased damage taken.
- Gift of Eternus: Protector – Eternus grants tanks 10% increased healing received from other players.
- Level 80 Timerunners will now receive Fragmented Mementos of Epoch Challenges as loot for the following content:
- World Bosses
- Rare Enemies (Daily)
- Emissary Quests
- Completing the following content with Heroic World Tier enabled will award higher quantities of Fragmented Mementos:
- World Bosses
- Rare Enemies (Daily)
- Koda Steelclaw now appears in the correct phase so that players turn in the quest “Entangled Dreams.”
- Fixed an issue causing the Legion Remix zone meta achievements to not grant rewards if completed while inside a keystone dungeon. Rewards should be granted to players affected by this issue by logging into any timerunner.
- Fixed an issue where Timeworn Keystone Dungeons were not awarding gear with the correct item level.
- Timeworn Keystone Dungeons now award gear when completed with a successful time.
- The number of Motes of a Broken Time awarded for completing Timeworn Keystone Dungeons has been reduced.
Practically speaking, the Gift of Eternus tweaks give a clear edge to damage roles and healers during Eternus runs, while Protector offers a smaller, targeted bonus to tanks. The wider memento sources and increased quantities on Heroic World Tier should speed up collection for Level 80 Timerunners, though the reduction in Motes of a Broken Time softens overall keystone loot output.
Players who hit issues with zone meta rewards or incorrect keystone item levels should see those problems resolved after logging into any timerunner. For the official hotfix post, read the official hotfix notes.
