Gaijin Entertainment’s final naval event of the year, Sea Defender, runs from December 3rd (11:00 GMT) until December 17th (11:00 GMT) and puts the Soviet AK-225 patrol gunboat on the table as the top reward for players who finish seven stages of Naval Battles.
The AK-225 sits at Rank V as an event vehicle for the USSR and comes equipped with an automatic 57 mm bow cannon with AP and HE-Frag rounds plus a six-barrel AK-630 mount on the stern, making it well suited to hunt other boats and low-flying aircraft.
Each event stage is worth 35,000 mission points and must be earned in Naval Battles at Rank III or higher in Arcade and Realistic modes; event vehicles from earlier events that are Rank I or II also count if their stat card shows the event name. Players need to manually collect rewards after finishing a stage by clicking their name in-game, opening the Sea Defender window and pressing the Get Reward button.
Stages rotate every two days at 11:00 GMT on December 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th and 15th, and rewards unlock in tiers: finishing 1 stage grants a trophy with a random reward, 2 stages grants a decal, and so on until the AK-225 coupon is awarded after 7 stages. The event also includes a chest that can drop Silver Lions, boosters, wagers and orders, Universal Backups, a random obtainable camouflage, or 1 day of Premium Account.
- For 1 Stage: trophy with a random reward
- For 2 Stages: one of the reward decals
- For 3 Stages: trophy with a random reward
- For 4 Stages: one of the reward decals
- For 5 Stages: trophy with a random reward
- For 6 Stages: “Flag of the naval units of the Border Troops of the USSR” ship flag
- For 7 Stages: non-tradable coupon for the AK-225
If you don’t want to grind every stage, incomplete stages can be purchased with Golden Eagles and the price scales with progress: at 85% completion the purchase price is halved and at 95% completion the price is reduced five times. The announcement gives concrete examples: 30,000 mission points would make the buyout cost 499 Golden Eagles, while 33,500 mission points reduces it to 199 Golden Eagles.
Claiming the AK-225 coupon as non-tradable is one route; to make it tradable you need the “Upgrade for coupon” item, which can be earned during the event for 600,000 mission points and is available until December 22nd (11:00 GMT). After converting the coupon into a tradable one, it becomes sellable on the Market six days after creation.
Players can track progress by opening Nickname > Achievements > Sea Defender in-game, and stages remain purchasable from that Achievements window until December 22nd if you miss the active stage window.
Gaijin has kept a steady flow of vehicle event rewards this season; consolepcgaming.com previously wrote about the R400 wheeled combat vehicle being handed out in the Fast and Dangerous ground event, which is worth a look for players tracking event-era rewards our coverage of the Fast and Dangerous event’s R400 reward.
