War Thunder Discounts 3 Mi-24 Variants for the Helicopter’s First-Flight Anniversary
The 30% promotion runs through September 21 at 13:00 GMT, with the Mi-24D available only during the sale.
War Thunder has started a 30% discount on three Mi-24 variants to celebrate the anniversary of the helicopter’s first production flight. The offer covers the USSR’s Mi-24D, Germany’s Mi-24P HFS 80, and Italy’s Mi-24P through September 21.
The sale runs from September 18 at 13:00 GMT until September 21 at 13:00 GMT. Gaijin Entertainment detailed the promotion in an anniversary sale notice.
Three Mi-24 variants are discounted
- Mi-24D: Rank V, available under USSR > Helicopters > Premium vehicles for 5,992 Golden Eagles.
- Mi-24P HFS 80: Rank VI, available under Germany > Helicopters > Premium vehicles for 6,111 Golden Eagles.
- Mi-24P: Rank VI, available under Italy > Helicopters > Premium vehicles for 6,111 Golden Eagles.
The Mi-24D will leave the shop when the promotion ends. The Mi-24P HFS 80 and Mi-24P will remain available afterward at their regular price of 8,730 Golden Eagles.
The first production Mi-24 made its maiden flight on September 19, 1969. The attack helicopter could carry up to eight troops while withstanding small-arms fire, and it held the helicopter speed record for an extended period. More than 2,500 Mi-24s were produced, with some still in service.
How the Mi-24 variants differ
The Mi-24P models replace the YakB machine gun with a 30 mm GSh-30-2K cannon, giving them heavier firepower against ground vehicles. Their Shturm anti-tank missile system remains the main tool for engaging armored targets, and the two variants feature liveries connected to East Germany and Hungary.
The Mi-24D entered service in 1976 and uses a four-barrel 12.7 mm YakB machine gun with a modified cockpit. Its loadout also includes Phalanga anti-tank guided missiles, unguided rockets, a 23 mm cannon, and 250 kg or 500 kg bombs.
