VRChat’s Spookality 2026 Brings Horror Worlds, Rewards and Halloween Events
Featured world and avatar rows remain available through November 2 at 2 p.m. PT, while themed shop content runs through December 18.
VRChat’s Spookality 2026 is underway, bringing creator-made horror worlds and avatars, events throughout October, and a handful of ways to earn seasonal rewards. The Steam announcement introduces Camp Whispering Screams as the event’s hub.
The new hub gathers the contest winners, with winner rows also appearing in VRChat until November 2 at 2 p.m. PT. Spookality is built around a creator-made world and avatar jam, with prizes and the chance for selected entries to be featured.
Spookality’s October Schedule
The schedule included a VRChat Community Team livestream on October 16 at 2 p.m. PT. Next, the team will showcase the top three worlds and avatars in a ceremony on October 24 at 12 p.m. PT. A DJ event at Camp Whispering Screams follows on October 31 at 5 p.m. PT, featuring four DJs and possibly a special guest.
Link a VRChat account and watch the October 24 or October 31 stream to earn a Twitch Drop. Attending the October 31 DJ event inside VRChat also earns a separate reward.
Visit Camp Whispering Screams for More Rewards
Visitors can earn special camp-themed hats by stopping by the hub on October 16, 23, 30, and 31. The Spookality referral program offers another reward: refer one friend and both of you get a Thirst Killer water bottle. Refer three friends to earn a Profile Decoration set featuring a spooky VRRat.
VRC+ gifts in the hub or featured worlds also count toward the returning Hype Train. Its completion requirement is now 5 gifts instead of 50. Gifting at least one VRC+ earns a Rucksack Avatar Accessory, while completing the Hype Train grants a Ghost Companion.
Camp Whispering Screams-themed items are also available in the VRChat Shop through December 18.
