Tate Multimedia and French indie studio SideRift have announced the launch of the Open Beta for their co-op tower defense game, Voodolls. From March 23 to March 28, players can form teams and engage in intense battles to protect the Puppet Master from relentless hordes of demons. The full game is set to be released on Steam on April 13, 2023.
The Open Beta offers players access to the game tutorial, all four Voodolls, two planets, and three difficulty modes, allowing them to increase the challenge progressively. An endless mode is also available, providing countless hours of entertainment. As a special bonus, participants in the Open Beta will unlock an exclusive Corrupted Skin that will not be available again once the Open Beta ends.
Voodolls is an online multiplayer game where players are tasked with fighting for their freedom after their souls are trapped in hell. The Puppet Master, a mysterious figure, offers them a chance to escape by distilling their essence into Voodolls. The gameplay revolves around co-op tower defense battles, where players must defend the Puppet Master in order to maintain their hopes of escaping captivity.
Each Voodoll comes with unique abilities that can lead to victory when combined with other characters. The game features a synergy between action, exploration, and strategic Tower Defense mechanics, including an array of traps and defenses to hold back the hordes of hell. Twelve planetoid stages are available, each themed by the four seasons and featuring three difficulty modes and an endless mode.
Voodolls can be played solo or with up to four players in online co-op, offering a full campaign experience. The game also features a story-based campaign, which reveals the secrets of the Puppet Master and the dolls. Players can choose from three camera angles: immersive first-person mode, third-person, or a strategy camera mode for tactical decision-making.
