Vince Zampella Urges Players to Buy Battlefield 6 on Steam After EA App Blocks PC Launch

Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella publicly criticized the EA App on October 11, 2025, after Battlefield 6’s PC launch left some players unable to start the game. Reports showed the launcher returning an error that prevented booting the title, prompting sharp social media reactions from across the industry.

In a post on X, Zampella asked how to escalate the issue inside Electronic Arts and suggested that affected players consider refunding the game on the EA App and purchasing it on Steam for a more stable experience. The original post can be read on X.

I have yelled about ea app people. Any suggestions on next levels of escalation?

Comments on the post show Zampella confirmed he is playing Battlefield 6 on Steam, and he encouraged others to try the same. Zampella also said that other platforms, including Xbox, were not affected by the launcher error. Currently, the EA App no longer displays the blocking error, and access has returned to normal for all players on the platform.
