Today, Valve announced that Steam Deck, will start shipping its first batch of order emails to reservation holders. As we know from before, the handheld gaming device has the power to sustain top-notch games and entertain gamers on the move. Steam Deck is considered an all-in-one portable PC gaming solution, including all Steam Games and features, accessible from wherever you are.

All customers will have 72 hours time span to confirm their purchase before the reservation is released to the next person in the queue. Furthermore, press units will also be sent to the media for reviews, with the embargo lifting on February 25.

Valve also posted additional details regarding the launch of Steam Deck:

  • We will start sending invites shortly after 10:00 am on February 25, PST
  • Order emails are sent in the same order that reservations were made.
  • You can only order the Steam Deck model that you originally reserved.
  • Your reservation deposit will be applied to the final price of Steam Deck, and shipping costs are included.

For those unfamiliar with it, Steam Deck is supposed to run games on a different operating system, even if considered for a portable PC gaming device. It has a new and improved version of SteamOS, and it comes with Proton, which allows games to run with any additional effort or porting set by developers. Proton is here to make sure game compatibility does not become an issue and provide anti-cheat solutions by working directly with vendors.
