Valve gives Steam Controller shoppers a better idea of the wait

Valve said reservations may point to September 2026, December 2026, or 2027, and buyers will have 72 hours to finish checkout once their slot opens.

Valve has given Steam Controller buyers a much clearer read on the queue, and some orders may not land until 2027.

Valve said on the official Steam blog in a June 18 post that reservation pages will now show one of three delivery windows: September 2026, December 2026, or 2027. If an order falls into that last group, Valve said more exact timing will come later.

The Steam Controller is still the only one of the three hardware products Valve announced in 2025 that has reached customers, and it has sold out more than once. Valve also said it has no plan to stop making the controller, even though demand is still running ahead of what it can produce by the end of the year.

Once a buyer’s place in the queue comes up, Valve will email them with the option to purchase the controller. They will have 72 hours to finish the order before that slot passes to the next person.
