Riot Games has released the latest update for Valorant, titled 6.04, which includes several performance updates and bug fixes, as well as the introduction of the new agent Gekko.
In addition to the introduction of Gekko and the performance updates, patch 6.04 also brings a number of other features to Valorant, including the return of the popular Oni skin line, a rank reset for competitive play, and a fresh Battlepass for players to unlock. The Oni skin line has been a fan favorite since it was first introduced, and its return is sure to please many players who have been eagerly awaiting its comeback. The rank reset will give players a chance to recalibrate their competitive rank and start fresh in the new season, while the fresh Battlepass offers new rewards and challenges for players to earn and complete.
Gekko is a highly anticipated addition to the game, and players will finally get the chance to try out the new agent and see how they fit into the game’s existing roster of characters.
In addition to the introduction of Gekko, patch 6.04 includes several performance updates designed to improve the input latency for players. This includes an update to thread synchronization, which is expected to reduce input latency by about one frame for players who meet certain criteria, such as not having NVIDIA Reflex/AMD Anti-Lag available or enabled, having multithreaded rendering enabled, and using VSYNC.
The patch also includes a number of bug fixes, including a bug fix where Sage’s Barrier Orb would fortify to full health instead of going to max health minus the damage that was dealt during fortification, as well as a fix for a bug where abilities like Sova Drone could continue to push players even after the door stops or the players exited the door’s area.
