EA and Motive Studio have shared more details about their developing Iron Man game, confirming that the project is still in its early pre-production phase. The information comes directly from Patrick Klaus, the General Manager of Motive Studio, in a recent update.
After the release of the Dead Space remake earlier this year, the team at Motive Studio has turned its attention to the Iron Man game. According to Klaus, they’re still laying the groundwork and are in the early stages of development. The goal is to set a strong foundation before fully diving into the project. While not much is known yet about the specifics of the game, Klaus noted that the team is exploring various aspects of story, design, and gameplay around the Iron Man theme.
Motive Studio has set up a community council consisting of Iron Man and Marvel fans to involve the community from the beginning. This group will provide feedback during various stages of development, similar to what was done for Dead Space.
Interestingly, this will be Motive Studio’s first game to use Unreal Engine 5. Their previous titles, including Dead Space, Star Wars Squadrons, and Star Wars Battlefront 2, were built on the Frostbite engine. The choice to switch engines indicates a potentially different approach to game design and mechanics.
