Epic Games is once again pushing the boundaries of user-generated content with the upcoming release of Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), set to launch on the Epic Games Store on March 22, 2023. This revolutionary PC application will empower content creators to design, develop, and publish custom games and experiences directly within the world of Fortnite, opening up a realm of possibilities for both seasoned developers and aspiring creators.

UEFN builds upon the existing Fortnite Creative toolset, introducing a plethora of new features and capabilities drawn from the powerful Unreal Engine 5. These tools and workflows will be familiar to those who have previously worked with Epic Games’ renowned game engine, enabling an intuitive and seamless transition to create content for Fortnite.

Features

Some of the key features that UEFN offers include:

  1. Custom asset import, modeling, and materials: Import your own meshes, textures, animations, and audio, and utilize UEFN’s built-in modeling and material tools to create truly unique content.
  2. Visual effects with Niagara: Harness the power of Niagara to craft stunning visual effects that will bring your creations to life.
  3. Animation using Control Rig and Sequencer: Animate characters, objects, and more with ease using Control Rig and Sequencer, adding depth and dynamism to your projects.
  4. Design gameplay with Verse: The new programming language Verse allows for powerful customization capabilities, enabling you to manipulate devices and create original game logic.
  5. Real-time collaboration: UEFN supports live editing and integrated revision control through Skein, allowing teams of creators to work together across PC and console to develop and test islands in real time.

By providing an accessible and versatile platform for developing custom content, UEFN promises to usher in a new era of user-generated experiences within Fortnite. This exciting development will enrich the Fortnite universe and inspire a new generation of content creators to share their creative visions with millions of players worldwide.

So mark your calendars for March 22, 2023, and get ready to dive into the exciting world of Unreal Editor for Fortnite. With limitless creative possibilities at your fingertips, there’s never been a better time to bring your ideas to life and share them with the Fortnite community.
