Unrailed 2: Back on Track just pushed a fresh experimental update, and it’s packed with some handy improvements and fixes that players will wanna check out. If you’ve been frustrated by connection issues or bot behavior, this might be your moment. It’s all still in testing, so your feedback could actually help shape the final version.
Accessing this experimental version is pretty simple: just right-click on Unrailed 2 in your Steam library, hit settings, then Betas. You’ll get a sneak peek at changes that are still a bit rough around the edges and might shift based on what players say. So, yeah, they’re listening.
One of the big quality-of-life tweaks is the new connection progress indicator showing a percentage while joining a game. Ever waited forever, wondering if you’re stuck? This should help. Plus, the connection timeout has been bumped to 90 seconds. That’s useful, especially for high-distance games where the host’s upload speed might slow things down.
There are also quite a few bot-related improvements that caught my eye. Bots can now throw tracks or tools directly to players by using emojis, which sounds like a fun way to communicate without typing. They also get smarter about placing buckets on milk wagons and milking animals when you apply the bucket emoji. Oh, and bots will keep one commodity on the carriage wagon to help you control what’s being carried. Handy, right?
Several bugs have been squashed too. For example, players respawning in the main menu or after restarting a map won’t happen anymore, and bots won’t pick animals that are already attached to the milk wagon. Some weird jiggling of wagons caused by certain extensions has been fixed as well.
Check out the full changelog below to see everything that’s been tweaked and fixed:
