Unrailed 2: Back on Track just rolled out a fresh update that tweaks the Octoboss encounter for smaller groups and irons out a handful of bugs reported by the community. If you’ve been wrestling with those tentacles or annoyed by replay glitches, this patch might smooth things out.
The developers have rebalanced the Octoboss for sessions with two or fewer players, making the fight a bit less punishing. Plus, the bot now actively targets the Octoboss’s tentacles when you place a mine emoji on its head or limbs, which should help in those frantic moments.
Patch Notes v-508-fb0fa8b
- New: The bot can now kill animals and especially Octoboss tentacles when placing a mine emoji on the Octoboss head or its tentacles.
- Balance: Octoboss starts with 1, 2, or 3 tentacles depending on the number of players.
- Bug fix: Octoboss sometimes spawned too far right.
- Bug fix: Animals on older map parts got killed in Time Attack mode with particles and sound, causing the kill-no-animals task to fail.
- Bug fix: Emoji menu could be opened when watching replays, which sometimes broke scrolling.
- Bug fix: The next Time Attack map was sometimes not correctly updated, leading to sudden labyrinth changes.
- Bug fix: Memory leak in labyrinth biome.
- Bug fix: Teleporter wagon could spawn multiple teleporters.
- Bug fix: When placing multiple tracks in the same frame by multiple players, it was possible to not connect to a station.
- Crash/Freeze fix: Black screen and game freezes when opening replays.
- Freeze fix: Freeze related to the labyrinth biome in Time Attack mode.
Thanks to the community on Discord and elsewhere for spotting these issues. It’s always good to see developers responding to player feedback so quickly.
