Undisputed 1.4.4 Brings Back Flash KOs and Fixes Gameplay Issues

Steel City Interactive updates Undisputed with a reworked KO system and various gameplay and bug fixes.

Steel City Interactive is pushing another patch for Undisputed, the boxing sim that’s been steadily improving since launch. Update 1.4.4 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, addressing the knockout mechanics and resolving gameplay bugs that have been a source of frustration for players. If you’ve been grinding through matches, these changes might just alter how you approach fights.

The headline feature is the return of Flash KOs, but with a twist. The system now ties Flash Dazes and Knockdowns more closely to the success of power punches, counter punches, and crucial combos. SCI says this rework better captures the momentum inside the ring, so timing those heavy hits when your opponent’s stamina is low could lead to quicker finishes. It’s kinda like the game’s finally listening to your strategy rather than just random luck.

Other gameplay fixes include improved punch tracking, which was causing issues with hit registration, and a rebalanced punch damage system based on stamina. The risk and reward for throwing power punches have been adjusted, too; miss or get blocked, and your recovery time will stretch longer, adding a bit more tension when you decide to go all out.

Undisputed Update 1.4.4 Patch Notes

  • Punch Tracking Improvements: fixed a bug causing major punch tracking issues; tracking should now feel much better.
  • Punch Damage based on stamina has been rebalanced.
  • Power Punch Hit Confirmation System: increased risk/reward; longer recovery if power punches miss or are blocked.
  • Revised KO System: Flash KOs are back with a system tied closely to power punches, counter punches, and very important combos reflecting in-ring momentum.
  • Flash KOs specifically linked to successful power and counter-power punches, especially when the opponent’s stamina is low.

Fighter Updates

  • Andy Ruiz: increased punch speed and updated in-game rating.
  • David Benavidez: increased punch speed.
  • Sugar Ray Leonard ’87: increased punch speed.

Character Creator Additions

  • Jack Dempsey and Jack Johnson’s movesets added.
  • Vintage Collection cosmetics, including old school gear, now available.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed evade state lasting too long, which affected punch tracking.
  • Fixed punches missing dazed opponents.
  • Corrected punches occasionally missing or overshooting opponents’ heads in close range.
  • Fixed extended reach on some power body uppercuts compared to regular body uppercuts.
  • Various animation and stability fixes.

Honestly, these changes feel like a solid step toward making Undisputed more strategic and less frustrating. The KO system rework, in particular, means you can’t just spam power punches and hope for a miracle. You have to be smart about timing and stamina management. Have you noticed a difference in your matches after this update? What’s your take on the Flash KO comeback?
