Tencent Games has announced a brand new Open-World Survival RPG Shooter, Undawn. Undawn is destined to pack a new sort of action set in an open-world with numerous RPG elements purposed to redefine the genre. Based on the announcement, Undawn sounds more like “Destiny”, “The Division” type of games, including PvE and PvP environments.
Undawn is being developed by the same developers who worked on PUBG Mobile. According to the announcement, the game has too many characteristics to hold accountable to because it is also a survival game, which, according to the announcement, reminds of DayZ. So, what path will Undawn take exactly? According to the developer itself:
With Undawn, we wanted to create a new type of action game that combines open-world freedom with RPG elements that would completely redefine the genre, regardless of platform. The fact that we created such an amazing experience for mobile and PC platforms means that even more players around the globe will be able to survive the apocalypse together, creating the potential for a huge new type of open world experience.
So, what’s this game about exactly? In Undawn, players will be drawn into its survival aspect, being able to combine powers in order to preserve. Collecting resources and building bases will most probably be some of the core mechanics. Players are on a rough defense against the ruthless zombies who’re slowly invading the whole world, and they need to scavenge materials and weapons to endure.
