Ubisoft has laid out a plan to address significant community concerns around Rainbow Six Siege X, with fixes to anti-cheat, balance adjustments, and a push to improve Ranked before the Munich Major in November.
Ubisoft accepts that the shift to free-to-play left Siege vulnerable to a spike in cheating. The developer plans to target high-profile cheat creators by improving detection, disrupting marketplace exploits, and handing out permanent bans for confirmed abusers. Expect a stronger focus on enforcement and marketplace monitoring.
Balance changes will restore some power to operators who were significantly impacted by recent nerfs. Several operators are slated for buffs. Patch 3.3, arriving on October 14, will reverse Denari’s nerf and buff the Glaive-12. Solis will get back the impact grenade. In Year 10 Season 4, Thermite, Hibana, and Maverick will also receive buffs. The season will introduce a new “Testing Grounds” feature, allowing players to trial changes and provide feedback. Armour and speed rewrites are set to be the first items tested.
Ranked 2.0, launched alongside the Siege X update, did not meet expectations, so a set of revisions will begin in Year 10 Season 4. Matchmaking will be tuned to consider rank and squad size more precisely, while a broader ranked overhaul will add visible rewards and more evident skill progression. Workshops to shape the overhaul will run during the Munich Major, with a target release sometime in the first half of Year 11.
Ubisoft also acknowledged that seasonal content felt lighter after Siege X. Plans include adjusting the seasonal cadence to bring more mid-season content, with further details to be shared at the upcoming major. Players should watch for more frequent mid-season drops and more precise content roadmaps.
