Ubisoft’s Battle Royale game, Hyper Scape, hasn’t met its goals. What everyone believed it would be a Battle Royale sensation with exciting mechanics and refined and re-invented gameplay than the ordinary ones out there, Hyper Scape turned out to be a short-lasting project, and now it’s just a forgotten tale. Today, Ubisoft has published the reveal trailer for Hyper Scape, which arguably looks close to Apex Legends.
The company addressed this on Thursday, with a short blog post addressing the community and explaining why the free-to-play first-person Battle Royale shooter will meet its end of development.
“We have made the difficult decision to end development of Hyper Scape and shut the game down as of April 28th. We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey. We will be taking key learnings from this game into future products.”
To the Hyper Scape community, thank you for your passion and dedication to the world of Neo Arcadia both inside and outside of the game. Your devotion to the game we built will always be cherished.”
The game couldn’t get momentum. Since the game launched in 2020, the number of players that decided to join was slowly crippling away, with no distinct and unique feature to keep them put.
