Ubisoft Says Black Flag Resynced Is Pushing PS5 Pro Hard
Ubisoft says enhanced PSSR on PS5 Pro lets Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced render its tropical world with sharp image quality and no visible upscaling artifacts.

Ubisoft is promising a strong showing for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced on PS5 Pro, with the game due on July 9. In comments shared through the PlayStation Blog, the studio said Sony’s upgraded image technology lets the remake push its ocean-heavy world without visible scaling issues.
Technical director Jussi Markkanen said Ubisoft was “extremely impressed” with the enhanced PSSR, adding that it “really redefines the graphics experience in console games.” He said the feature let the team render the game’s tropical setting, with swaying palm trees, storms, and rough seas, while keeping the picture stable and free of visible upscaling artifacts.
Technical architect Nicolas Lopez also said both PS5 and PS5 Pro players will see improvements, but the stronger console will get the more demanding version of the experience. On PS5 Pro, he described it as a “no compromise” setup with advanced ray tracing performance and enhanced PSSR.
That lines up with Ubisoft’s wider pitch for the remake, which is being rebuilt in the latest version of Anvil. The studio says players can expect more detailed character faces, better animation, and thicker crowds, and the setup should also help the game’s seas stand out on Sony’s hardware.
