Tom Holland wishes he could take back the Infinity War spoiler he blurted out
The Spider-Man star accidentally told an opening-night audience that Peter Parker survived Thanos' snap.
Tom Holland has spent years trying to keep Marvel secrets under control, but one accidental spoiler still bothers him. During a surprise visit to an Avengers: Infinity War opening-night screening, Holland told the audience that Spider-Man was still alive before realizing many of them had not seen the movie.
Holland described the moment during an interview with Complex at the premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had rented a party bus so the pair could visit theaters around Los Angeles and surprise fans.

Holland said he believed the screening had already finished when he walked onto the stage. He then told the crowd, “Don’t worry everybody, I’m still alive.” The audience responded with a large sigh, which immediately made him realize something had gone wrong.
“I thought that was gonna get a bigger reaction,” Holland recalled. He then looked toward Feige, who was gesturing for him to leave the stage.
The spoiler confirmed that Peter Parker would return after Thanos’ snap. At the end of Infinity War, Spider-Man disintegrates into ash in Tony Stark’s arms alongside many other victims. Holland’s Peter Parker later returns in Avengers: Endgame, appearing on the battlefield with the other heroes who vanished.
Holland has had other spoiler mishaps over the years, including sharing the Infinity War poster online, confirming that the original Spider-Man films formed a trilogy, and mentioning that Peter would travel into space. Still, his premature confirmation of Spider-Man’s survival appears to be the one he would most like to undo.
He has been more careful with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film will release on July 29 in the UK and July 31 in the US, while key details about Sadie Sink’s character and the movie’s villain remain undisclosed.
