Throne and Liberty Plans a Broad Cleanup for Nix and Late-Game Progression

Archboss Ramux will arrive next week alongside planned changes to field events, guild raids, Trait Resonance, weapons, and daily progression costs.

Throne and Liberty will receive a long list of changes aimed at reducing the rough edges introduced with The Frozen Divide: Nix. The team detailed the plans in a July 23 Steam announcement, while also confirming that Archboss Ramux will arrive next week.

Ramux will be the game’s first two-phase Archboss. She will enter the fight riding her dragon, Atirat, creating an encounter built around additional mechanics and strategic demands. More information is available in the official Archboss Ramux article.

Nix Events Will Require Fewer Players

Instanced Field Events currently ask for between three and six players. The planned update will lower those requirements so that finding a full party is less of a roadblock. The team is also working to bring event completion times closer together, since some activities can currently take up to nine times longer than others.

Objective guidance inside Field Events will receive changes as well. The goal is to make required actions easier to understand during each encounter.

Oath of Nails and Sparks will lose its extra repair step involving Shemir’s Armillary Sphere. Players will no longer need to repeat the same event to purify Redfrost equipment, and at least one Armillary Sphere in Nix will remain active at all times.

Movement through Nix will also receive attention. The team is improving the pathing and usability of the Aethersuit and Auroral Path, with those changes currently targeted for August.

Tumgir Hollow and Remnants of Nix Are Being Reworked

Tumgir Hollow will keep its current map layout, but background objects that interfere with visibility and movement will be removed. Some areas will receive structures that group monsters together, helping players complete farming runs more efficiently. Monster crowd control will be reduced, while entry buffs and performance-based bonus rewards will be added.

Remnants of Nix will receive follow-up work focused on Elite Monsters and the mode’s Escape system. The team said it is reviewing Elite Monster encounters to make them more accessible, with further details coming in a later update.

Escape Ports will no longer activate in such large numbers at the same time. Their timing and frequency will be adjusted so that purification inside Remnants of Nix retains more of the pressure intended for the mode.

Masarax is also being redesigned. Instead of acting mainly as an unavoidable obstacle that appears at fixed times, the monster will become a strategic challenge. Players who defeat Masarax will receive rewards matched to the effort required.

Weapon and Progression Changes Are in Development

Trait Resonance is receiving protection against negative stat changes. The planned system will prevent stats from decreasing during Resonance, keeping progression from being lost to random results.

Existing Ascended Archboss weapons will also retain their place in progression after Ramux arrives. Ascended Deluzhnoa and Giant Cordy weapons will have their base Item Level raised from Lv.70 to Lv.80, along with matching stat increases. The change will apply to weapons already owned and those acquired later.

A new Frost Soul Weapon will eventually be crafted from upgraded Ascended weapons and Frost Soul Shards earned from Archboss Ramux. Any Potential Ability on the Ascended weapon used in the crafting process will transfer intact. The weapon will come in a later update so the transfer system can be implemented correctly.

Weekly ranking rewards for Dimensional Trials will require a lower cumulative score. This is meant to reduce the Dimensional Point pressure connected to Co-Op Dungeons and Dimensional Trials, with more changes possible if the burden remains too high.

Guild Raids and Seal Battle Are Also Getting Attention

The minimum Guild Raid registration will fall from 36 players to 24. The team also plans to add party-level registration in the future, which should give smaller guilds another way to participate.

Some classes with movement skills currently have an outsized advantage in Seal Battle, the newer Battlegrounds mode. Class adjustments are in preparation, and balance will continue to be monitored across Battlegrounds content.

Inheritance costs are under review after the equipment overhaul made the system more central to progression. The team is examining usage data to determine how much those costs should be lowered. Daily playtime requirements and progression expenses are being reviewed as well, with the stated aim of reducing pressure from mandatory daily tasks and currency shortages.

Changes Will Begin in July

The team said the listed improvements will begin appearing in July and continue across later updates. Some changes have a clear target, such as the traversal work planned for August, while other systems will receive more details in future announcements.
