Yorpie has released Project Enhancement V: San Andreas Law Enforcement, a GTA 5 overhaul mod that rebuilds the game’s police, emergency, and military response systems. The project is the same PEV: SALE mod that lived on gta5mods for years, where it kept getting updated before landing on NexusMods in a new version.
The overhaul reaches every major law enforcement branch in Los Santos and Blaine County. It adds fresh NPC models, bigger vehicle pools, and more specialized units, so the Los Santos County Sheriff is no longer limited to a Stanier and a Granger. The department can now call in motorcycles, Interceptors, Fugitives, Bisons, Enforcers, Mavericks, and patrol boats, while the Los Santos Police Department, the Los Santos County Sheriff’s Department, the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, and the San Andreas Highway Patrol also get similar attention.
SALE also brings in new groups such as the Los Santos Port Authority, the Los Santos International Airport Police Department, the Paleto Bay Police Department, the U.S. Marshals, Military Police, and the National Coast Guard. FIB and NOOSE have been expanded too, and medical and fire services now vary by county and by state. On the street, that means more patrol officers, tougher response teams, SWAT units, wider weapon loadouts, better roadblocks, and cops that behave differently depending on their role.
The AI side gets some of the biggest changes. Pursuits are more persistent, officers take corners better, stay in the chase longer, and keep trying to close the gap instead of vanishing the moment they fall behind. The wanted system now uses a GTA IV-style search radius on the minimap, and once things climb high enough, tactical teams, dogs, snipers, and even tunnel or sewer searches can all come into play.
A gameplay clip showing the mod in action is available below.
The only downside is platform support. This version is for GTA 5 Legacy, not the Enhanced Edition, and there are no plans to move it over. If you’re still on Legacy, the mod is available through NexusMods.
