The Wolf Among Us Remastered Will Return on October 29 With a Noir Mode

Telltale's remaster will bring visual upgrades, accessibility options, bonus developer content, and the complete five-episode adventure to consoles and PC.

The Wolf Among Us Remastered will arrive on October 29, 2026, giving fans a polished way to revisit Telltale Games’ grim Fables adaptation just before Halloween. The remaster will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Telltale confirmed the date during its Gamescom 2026 appearance, where it also shared a new trailer for the remaster. The project was first announced in June and will bring the original five-episode story back with refreshed presentation, accessibility features, and extra behind-the-scenes material.

What The Wolf Among Us Remastered Will Add

The story remains centered on Sheriff Bigby Wolf, the lawman responsible for protecting Fabletown’s hidden community of fairy-tale characters in New York. Originally released in 2015, the five-episode adventure follows the Big Bad Wolf as he investigates a series of grisly murders while dealing with the personalities and politics packed into the underground neighborhood.

The remaster will keep that core adventure intact while improving its visuals and cinematic presentation. Telltale has also touched up the animation, added more accessibility options, and made broader performance improvements. Players will receive extra material alongside the episodes, including interviews, concept art, and developer commentary, according to the game’s Steam page.

The most eye-catching addition is Noir Mode, which will present the entire game in smoky black and white. It fits the murder mystery’s hard-boiled atmosphere perfectly, even if Telltale has not explained whether the mode will change anything beyond the game’s visual presentation.

The Wolf Among Us 2 Is Still Planned for 2027

The remaster now has a firm date, but the sequel remains much less defined. The Wolf Among Us 2 was first announced in 2017, before Telltale’s majority studio closure in 2018 put the project’s future in doubt. After Telltale returned, the sequel was announced again at The Game Awards 2019 and restarted from scratch with help from AdHoc Studio.

AdHoc Studio later left the project in 2023 to focus on Dispatch. Telltale said in 2024 that development was continuing, although the sequel remained quiet until it was announced again during the 2026 Summer Games Fest. That presentation placed its target launch in 2027 and identified Trick Studios as the team continuing the work after AdHoc Studio’s departure.

For now, Telltale has not shared the sequel’s cast or story details. The first season’s October return should give players a chance to revisit Bigby’s case before the next chapter eventually arrives.
