The Witcher 3 Remastered will require an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 for its 4K Path Tracing target, alongside a high-end processor and 24GB of RAM. CD Projekt RED’s updated PC requirements cover rasterization, Ray Tracing, and Path Tracing ahead of the free update’s September 29 release.

Rasterization starts at 1080p
An entry-level configuration targets 1080p at 30 FPS on Low settings with an Intel Core i5 8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 12GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, or Intel Arc A580. CD Projekt RED also says the GTX 1660 can run the game at 60 FPS. This profile lists 6GB of VRAM.
Players targeting 1080p at 60 FPS on High settings will need an Intel Core i7 8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super, AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT, or Intel Arc B580. The recommended profile calls for 8GB of VRAM.
A 1440p Ultra target is set at 60 FPS and raises the processor requirement to an Intel Core i7 13700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X. This tier also calls for 24GB of RAM, 12GB of VRAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, or Intel Arc B580 with XeSS enabled.
Ray Tracing needs more GPU power
Ray Tracing at 1080p, listed as the RT Minimum tier, targets 30 FPS with DLSS, FSR, or XeSS. It requires an Intel Core i7 11700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super, AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT, or Intel Arc B580. The listed profile calls for 8GB of VRAM.
Ray Tracing Ultra at 1440p, listed as the RT Recommended tier, targets 60 FPS with DLSS or FSR. The processor requirement is an Intel Core i7 13700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, while the GPU options are an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT. This profile lists 12GB of VRAM and 24GB of RAM.
Path Tracing targets 4K
The highest preset is listed under RT Ultra and calls for an Intel Core i9 13900K or AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 24GB of RAM, 16GB of VRAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080. At 4K, or 2160p, with Path Tracing enabled, CD Projekt RED’s listed 60 FPS result uses DLSS and Frame Generation.
CD Projekt RED does not identify the DLSS upscaling level or frame-generation mode used for this estimate. The published requirements also do not include separate 1440p or 1080p Path Tracing profiles, so the lower resolution targets belong to the rasterization and Ray Tracing tiers.
Windows 11 and an SSD are part of the baseline
Every listed profile requires 60GB of SSD space and 64-bit Windows 11. Players with hardware below the new targets will also have an option to return to an earlier version of the game, which will be listed as Classic where the platform supports that choice.
The Witcher 3 Remastered will arrive on September 29 as a free update for owners of the Complete Edition. PC players will have several visual targets to choose from, but the 4K Path Tracing option is clearly aimed at current high-end hardware.
