The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is now available to download on PS5. Players can update the existing Complete Edition, with the PS5 patch measuring roughly 45GB. CD Projekt Red’s September 29 rollout schedule sets the local time when the upgrade becomes available in each region.
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players will download roughly the same amount of data. The Steam version is also around 45GB, although the final size can vary with installed language packs. Nintendo Switch 2 owners will need about 50GB for a separate download.

The global schedule uses local times for September 29, 2026. PC and console versions follow the same staggered release schedule, so the local time in your region determines when the upgrade becomes available.

Preload and remaster features
Because the remaster updates an existing version of the game, most players do not receive a preload. Battle.net appears to be the exception because the game will arrive on that platform for the first time. The update is around 45GB, so checking available storage before downloading is worthwhile.
The package announced on August 25 includes improved rendering, a reworked skill system, combat improvements, an expanded photo mode, cross-platform mod support, transmog, and other quality-of-life changes.
Existing saves will carry over
The remaster replaces the current Complete Edition rather than appearing as a separate standalone game. Existing save data and Trophy data remain compatible, so returning players will not need to start Geralt’s journey again.
The September 29 release is a free upgrade for existing owners. Players planning a return should also account for the size of the download, especially on PS5 where the update is about 45GB.
