The Outlast Trials has just received a quick hotfix addressing some issues players encountered after the last update. The changes may seem minor, but they impact matchmaking, rewards, and some gameplay quirks that have been bothering the community.
The main highlight? The developers reverted the matchmaking changes, removing the trial fill option. It looks like the feature didn’t sit well with the Reagents, so it’s gone for now. Plus, you’ll notice an increase in Release Tokens granted, which should help with progression.
One interesting update is the addition of Legacy Reborn Trophies. If you have already released your Reagent at least once before version 4.0, the trophies will now be granted automatically based on your previous progress. For example, if you released five times before the update, you’ll only need to rebirth and release five more times to get the Legacy 10 release Trophy. The system also grants old and new trophies together if you’re completing the new Rebirth tasks for the first time or have reached a certain progress point.
Other fixes include a correction to the Ultra 2 variator, which was intended to block some item variators but wasn’t functioning properly. It’s a small but appreciated fix since the Ultra 2 variator is already pretty limiting. Additionally, gamepad users should now see improved focus handling in the group options submenu.
If you encounter any issues or would like to chat with support, the official Outlast Discord Server is the place to be. The team genuinely values feedback and seems committed to smoothing out these rough edges.
Have you noticed these changes in your runs? What do you think about the removal of trial fill-in matchmaking?
Hotfix Patch Notes | Project Diarchy – July 16th
- Reverted matchmaking changes. No more trial fill option.
- Increased Release Tokens granted.
- Legacy Reborn Trophies will now be granted when you reach the required release count for players who released at least once prior to version 4.0. For example, if you release your Reagent 5 times before the 4.0 update, you only need to Rebirth and release 5 more times to acquire the Legacy 10 release Trophy. Those Trophies are granted automatically; there is no need to go through the task system.
- When completing the new Tasks for Rebirth, if you had never Rebirthed in the past or if you reached a certain point in your progress, you will obtain both the old and new Trophies as you keep releasing Reagents.
- Fix the Ultra 2 variator not blocking some item variators from being picked. It’s already limiting items enough as is.
- Fix a focus issue when using a gamepad in the group options submenu.
