EA recently declared that the next update for Need for Speed Unbound, labeled Vol. 3, will be released on June 20. This update brings fresh content, including a new Speed Pass, various events, engaging cosmetics, and more. Along with the announcement, EA unveiled a new trailer to give the audience a sneak peek into what’s in store.

The forthcoming update introduces the Speed Pass, an innovative progression system that offers free cosmetics and customization items as rewards for players’ engagement with the game. Consisting of 75 tiers of content, the Speed Pass presents an assortment of new outfits, Driving Effects, neon lights, banner stickers, and more. Complete challenges to amass XP and reap the rewards, such as the brand-new Legendary Custom SRT Viper (2014).

Additionally, Vol. 3 brings Linkups, a novel feature that allows players to take a break from the race track and tear across the map to one of seven locations, ranging from the Seba Ski Resort to the Quarry. Join the Lakeshore community in a quest to complete stunt-based challenges and fulfill the collective goal of escalating difficulty, against the clock, over four rounds. On completing 12 rounds of the Linkups event, players can win the coveted new DMC Delorean, along with XP for Speed Pass and Bank, to garner enticing cosmetics and customizations.

Need for Speed Unbound Vol. 3 update also augments the gameplay with 68 new Challenges, including 29 new Daily Challenges and 13 sets of different Weekly Challenges. Moreover, the new Drift Playlists inject a fresh dose of variety into the game, testing players’ skills to accumulate as much score as possible through each course. The update also includes a new Chat Wheel, providing a fast and efficient means to communicate with the Lakeshore community.

For those looking to personalize their gaming experience further, the update introduces an in-game store where players can purchase content packs, including new cars, cosmetics, driving effects, and more. The Robojets Swag Pack, priced at $14.99, offers players an exclusive range of Robojets-themed items, including an exclusive horn, a clothing pack, a Driving Effect, and the Legendary Custom Mazda RX-7 Spirit R (2022).

The Ford Mustang GT Legendary Custom Pack is available at $9.99, offering the Legendary Custom Ford Mustang GT (2015) and a 10-level Speed Pass boost, unlocking exciting new cosmetic and customization items. The Volume 3 Customs Pack, priced at $5.99, provides access to the Volvo 242 DL (1975), the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport (2016), and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X (2008) Epic Customs.

In essence, the Need for Speed Unbound Vol. 3 update ushers in a thrilling gaming landscape jam-packed with new events, content, and interactive ways for players to enjoy further and customize their gaming experience. The date is set; mark your calendars for June 20, and rev up your engines for the exhilarating ride ahead!
