The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has received its Patch 1.6 update from Nixxes, addressing several control quirks, graphic glitches, and stability issues that players might have run into. These fixes may not be headline-grabbing, but they contribute to a smoother experience overall, especially if you’ve noticed odd behavior with preparing or visual bugs in certain scenes.
One of the more noticeable fixes concerns the controls. If you use a mouse and keyboard to enter codes for safes or bank vaults, you may have accidentally skipped numbers. That should be fixed now. Controller users will find that the bow’s trigger behavior is more dependable; before, it could misfire if you released the trigger too slowly, or not draw properly based on how hard you pressed it.
Graphically, jagged lines around bodies in the snow during Screen Space Shadows have been removed, which cleans up those scenes nicely. There were also issues with leaves near the floor tank in the aquarium, which appeared distorted when the Particle Density was set to medium or higher, along with flickering textures on the aquarium floor, both of which are now addressed.
Other tweaks include saving Exclusive Fullscreen and V-SYNC settings correctly after you change them in the display menu, fixing gyro preparation on Steam Deck and compatible controllers, and improving the visibility of shotgun fire effects when effects settings are very low. The rifle scope UI will no longer shift awkwardly to the screen corner when using upscaling combined with High Contrast mode.
