The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has just received its Title Update 1.2, bringing a host of fixes and enhancements to the game on PC. Developed by Nixxes, this update addresses various performance issues, visual glitches, and gameplay bugs players may have encountered since launch. Let’s delve into what you can expect from this new patch.
One of the key highlights in Patch 1.2 is an upgrade to AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) version 3.1.1, which aims to reduce jittering on Steam Deck when using FSR Frame Generation. Also, improvements have been made for NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation; activating this feature in the launcher will yield frame rate increases similar to those achieved via the in-game display menu.
Players should also notice a difference in stability following this update. The developers have resolved a crash issue that could occur during cutscenes with wide Field of View settings and tackled bugs leading to Direct3D Invalid Call crashes.
Visually, players will also find some welcome tweaks: shadow pop-in issues and flickering blood stains in Capitol Hill are now addressed, along with problematic dark lines appearing in volumetric fog, particularly on ultrawide setups. Light refraction effects within the aquarium scene are also improved so they won’t be distracting during high frame rates anymore.
This update also tackles a few annoying gameplay-related bugs, specifically one where shooting right after restarting a checkpoint with your mouse wouldn’t work properly and another that caused unintended firing after performing stealth kills if specific action keys were mapped incorrectly.
The patch will automatically download through Steam upon launching the client next time you log in. Below are the full release notes detailing all changes included in Update 1.2:
