If you’ve been jumping into The First Descendant lately, you might have noticed some hiccups. The developers have shared a list of known issues affecting gameplay and events this May, along with some temporary fixes. Whether you’re grinding the Weekly Fire Support event or just exploring, here’s what you need to know to keep your experience smooth.
May Known Issues
- Weekly Fire Support Event Reset
An issue has been found where the weekly challenges for the ongoing ‘Weekly Fire Support’ event are resetting unexpectedly. To avoid confusion, all rewards earned through these resets will be kept. Players can continue participating until the missions change next Thursday. The team apologizes for the mix-up and is working on stabilizing the event. - Wing Dye Not Applying
Wing dye currently does not apply to Serena’s Albion Academy Summer Uniform Set. - Descendant Disappearing in Photo Mode
There’s a bug where the Descendant vanishes from the screen if you enter Photo Mode after positioning them against a wall and adjusting the camera so they’re out of view. - Freyna’s Exclusive Quest Icon Showing for Other Descendants
Freyna’s exclusive quest icon appears for other Descendants, but the quest itself can only be played with Freyna or Ultimate Freyna. - Intel CPU Crashes
Some players using Intel 13th and 14th generation CPUs have reported crashes with an ‘Out of video memory’ error on launch. Adjusting power limits in the BIOS might help temporarily. The developers are waiting on Intel’s official response and have shared it for reference. - Antivirus Program Conflicts
Certain antivirus software is causing client shutdowns. Temporary fixes include:- Bitdefender: Add The First Descendant files or folders to exclusions via System Protection > current Threat Detection (ATD) > Manage Exclusions.
- McAfee Agent: Restore TheFirstDescendant.exe from quarantined programs under McAfee Security > Navigation > Quarantined and Trusted Items.
The team has requested antivirus vendors to whitelist the game but some solutions are still pending.
- Easy Anti-Cheat Issues
If Easy Anti-Cheat isn’t working properly, players should check the FAQ for troubleshooting steps. Persistent problems should be reported to customer support with screenshots via the official website.
These issues highlight some bumps in the road for The First Descendant, but the developers are actively monitoring and updating the situation. If you run into any of these problems, the temporary workarounds might save you some headaches.
